Yet Con Chicken Rice...

Many friends from overseas often like to savour the delicious and ever popular Hainanese chicken rice. Frankly, I have only been bringing them to Boon Tong Kee, a rather popular chain of chicken rice restaurants. I think I found an alternative to their fat and oily chicken rice, now I strongly recommend Yet Con's chicken rice.

Situated just behind a street behind Raffles Hotel, this old looking restaurant proudly displays its 'air-con' sign. Reason being, the shop is so old and not renovated, it still proudly hangs the sign 'air-con restaurant'.

Back to the chicken rice, its not very oily, its tender and soft, smooth and delicious. A must try if you visit Singapore, that's for sure. Besides its aging crew and once awhile grouchy Hainanese boss, its food is definitely inviting.

When you are there, try the BBQ pork as well as its popular Hainanese pork chop. The gravy with the pork chop mixed with rice is surely a favourite with the customers.

Try not to visit the restaurant too late as by 8pm, the chickens get sold out and you will only be left salivating. Perhaps you can try the other alternatives on the street as its popular for Hainanses dishes but surely, Yet Con is the best out there cause if it isn't, HK food celebrity Choi Lan would not have visited them.
